How to Easily Fix a Slow PC

Computers are great when they are running fast, but as soon as they start running slow, it's a completely different story. They become extremely frustrating and annoying, preventing you from being able to do even the most simple of tasks on your machine... but luckily, there's an easy way to fix this problem which even a computer novice should be able to do.

The problem of a slow PC is actually very easy to fix. Most people are unaware that most of the time, it's caused by a hidden part of your system which hardly anyone knows about - the 'registry'. The registry is the central database for all Windows computers, storing all the settings and options for your computer. Everything from your Internet Favorites to your latest emails are kept in the registry, making it one of the most important and well-used parts of Windows.

Unfortunately, it's actually the biggest reason why your computer is running slow. You see, whenever you use your PC, Windows is constantly reading and editing 100's of registry files, telling it how to do a variety of different things. This is okay, but the problems start when Windows gets confused and ends up saving the files in totally the wrong way. This makes Windows unable to read them properly, making it slow down. Think of the corrupted  files as books which have their chapters mixed up - your computer has to spend longer and longer trying to decipher them, slowing it down.

With more and more registry files becoming corrupt every day, it's a big problem which is the biggest cause of a slow system. A handful of corrupt registry files isn't that bad, but most computers have 1,000's of damaged files, making them incredibly slow. Luckily, there's actually an easy way to fix this problem. You just need to use a tool called a 'registry cleaner' to go through the registry and fix all the corrupt files that are slowing it down. Registry cleaners work by scanning every registry file on your system, and then remove all the bad ones they find. Depending on the quality of the registry cleaner you use, performing a few registry scans will actually make your computer as fast as it was when it was new.
