You can have your potted plants all lined up together in a workbench or a certain place in your home where they can have enough sunlight. A pot should have the ideal dimensions of 5-12 inches in length and 6 inches wide. Pots vary in sizes and picking one basically depends on your style and preference. Make sure that your pots have small holes which would acts as drainage. The holes would also avoid root rot. Always use a fresh pot. Remove old soil and other materials that are contained in your pot.

Choosing potting soil

You can opt to create your own homemade compost or you can buy one from your local market. There are a number of commercial brands that offer fertilized soil. A good soul should be dark and moisten. When transferring soil to your pot, look out for stones and other unwanted debris and remove them.

Putting soil to pots

In putting soil to your pots, you can fill it up until one third of the pot. Gently place your young plant in the pot by nestling the roots in the soil. Don't press down too deep to avoid root damage. Don't push the roots too close to the bottom part of the pot. Always have your gloves and your trowel handy. Don't bury the entire plant. Be gentle on the plan and make sure that you are not doing damage to its stem and leaves.

Keep the soil healthy

Add just enough water to the soil. You can also put some organic fertilizer when needed. Look for an area where there is a good amount of sunlight and put your pots there. Observe the growth of your plant and water them or add fertilizer if need be.
